case study

At Zero Waste Engineering, we specialize in turning complex structural challenges into dependable, real-world solutions. For Moiz Textiles (Lahore), our team was entrusted with the design, fabrication, and supply of a custom solar mounting structure for a long-span industrial rooftop — a project that tested both engineering precision and on-site adaptability.

Solar Structure Optimization

Challenge

During prototype testing, our engineers observed slight sag under load conditions. To maintain long-term durability and structural reliability, we initiated a comprehensive FEA-based design optimization process to enhance stiffness and reduce displacement.

Our Solution

Using SolidWorks, we conducted detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate displacement under realistic load and wind conditions. The initial analysis indicated a maximum deflection of 14.5 mm, leading to a refined design that incorporated cross-bar reinforcements for improved rigidity and performance.

Results

35% reduction in deflection after optimization Improved stiffness and overall load stability On-time fabrication and delivery using Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG) steel Consistent site visits by our engineering team to ensure smooth installation and resolve issues proactively
